Building Upon Our Success: Expanding to Howley ASPIRE Pathways

Dear Friends of The Howley Foundation,

Creating and developing a successful program takes time, especially when the ultimate goal is to positively impact other people’s lives. When The Howley Foundation was founded, we took a one-student-at-a-time approach to making a difference through student scholarships. Little did we know then that the Howley Scholars Program would take us in so many different directions — all of which lead to creating opportunities for upward social and economic mobility for disadvantaged students.

The Howley ASPIRE Nurse Scholars Program is an excellent example of how The Howley Foundation works closely with its partners to fulfill a specific community need. After collaborating on the program for more than seven years, we dug even deeper into opportunities for job training in the healthcare workforce by expanding ASPIRE to include Howley ASPIRE Pathways. Participating in such innovative programming has been incredible, and we are impressed with all the accomplishments made during the program’s first year.

Howley ASPIRE Pathways replicates a successful model to make an even greater impact on the community by providing job training opportunities to students who are not interested in a traditional four-year college education when they graduate from high school. They may choose to pursue further education once they are established in the healthcare field.

We hope you’ll enjoy learning more about Howley ASPIRE Pathways in our video feature and spotlight that show the broad range of available options to students through three distinct career paths: Respiratory Therapy, Surgical Technology, and Sterile Processing.

The Howley Foundation is proud to be part of this educational journey for students.
